Description:
The Lumen 200 is a perfect replacement for conventional mercury burners. The metal halide lamps of the Lumen 200 provide a similar yet superior spectral output and have a 2000hr. lifetime compared to the 200hrs of the mercury burner. As spectral output of the Lumen 200 is similar to the mercury burner, fluorophores excited under HBO illumination will also be excited by the light produced by the Lumen 200 negating the need to change filter sets. A manual intensity control allows the light levels to be reduced to 70%, 50%, 25%, 10% or 0%, and a liquid light guide reduces heat and vibration transmitted to the microscope. The Lumen 200?s self aligning lamp with longer lifetime means lamp replacement is less frequent and easier, no lengthy, complicated lamp aligning procedures. Variants with expanded spectra for UV, CY5, CY7 and CY7.5 dyes are also available.
A shutter that closes in under 30 ms means that very brief exposure periods are now a possibility ? ideal for samples that are susceptible to photobleaching. The Lumen 200S is compatible with the ProScan? III control system but also can function as a stand alone unit.
