Varifocal lenses: Thanks to the variable focal length, you no longer require a whole host of fi xed focal lengths (4.0 mm; 8.0 mm, ?) but you can cover most applications with one single lens (e.g. 3.5 mm ? 8.0 mm). Moreover, they are used when the required focal length for an application is not known in advance. The relevant connection cable is available in lengths of 9 or 31 cm.
