The Dispersing Prisms, delicately manufactured by Altechna, functions by refracting a light ray that passes through itself. The deviation is a function of the refractive index; thus, the wavelength.

These prisms are made from a material composition namely, BK7, UVFS and IRFS. In addition, these have a dimension tolerance of +0.0/-0.2 mm, whereas an apex angle tolerance of ?2 arcmin with a flatness of ?/4 at 633 nm.
