Br?el & Kj?r 4182 probe microphone features a smooth frequency response ranging from 1Hz to 20kHz. It also has a smooth rolling off of high frequencies. It is suitable for measuring sound pressure in areas where use of regular microphones is unsuitable, such as confined spaces or in challenging environments.
The 4182 is suitable for a range of applications such as checking distribution of sound inside Hi-Fi headphones, telephone equipment and musical instruments. It can also be used for near-field measurement of loudspeakers, attenuation measurement in hearing protectors. Some other uses include measuring radiation of noise from intricate machinery and measurements of acoustic impedance.
The 4182 is very compact and has a weight of only 45 g or 1.47 oz. It allows selecting replaceable stiff and flexible probe tubes. The probe tip can resist temperatures up to 700?C or 1292?F. Acoustic impedance is high.
It allows equalization of static pressure inside the probe microphone with the measurement site.
