The Metzner LCS-Module is the first and sole solution in the market offering Laser-Cutting technology for the precise and damage-free stripping of complex and asymmetrical cables in in-line applications.

More frequently, sensitive or safety relevant wires and cables require processing that guarantees that even the smallest damage to the conductor is impossible. Sometimes this cannot be achieved by a knife or blade system . In a similar way, mechanical processing is also limited for asymmetrical cable types.

With the laser processing of the LCS-Module, Metzner now offers a solution for this problem. The rubber or plastic insulation of the cable sheath is hereby cut through the absorption of the radiation energy of the CO2-Laser. In contrast, the metal surface of the conductor reflects the laser radiation and remains unaffected. No matter if symmetrical or not, in this way, complex cables are processed guaranteed damage-free.

The different processing variants with the Metzner-LCS Module as well include window cutting, slitting and marking besides the classic 360? cut. The unit is integrated as peripheral before the cable processing machines of the Metzner AM 3000 series and AM 5000 series, which as well serve as interface for programming, communication and data input.
