The VS disc brake caliper was manufactured by Twiflex company. It is composed of two modules secured between U-shaped top and bottom mounting plates by tie rods. Usually, one or two calipers are needed per disc considering the number that will be increased depending on disc size. The brakes are positioned at any angle around the periphery, but ideally mounted horizontally.

The unit's minimum disc diameter is 1000 mm. The standard caliper accommodates the disc's thicknesses from 38 mm to 50 mm. The ratings projected on the tables are patterned on fully bedded in and brake pads that have a nominal friction coefficient of ? = 0.4. The disc brakes requires with the usage through the Twiflex asbestos free brake pads.
