Phytron?s VSS stepper motors are manufactured based on 30 years of experience in space technology. The two-phase hybrid stepper motors are utilized in vacuum environments up to 10 exp (-11) hPa. They are suitable for severe environments such as deep and high temperatures or difficult radiation intensity.

The vacuum comes in a selection of classes, such as fine vacuum configurations with up to 10-3 kPa, high vacuum versions with up to 10-7 hPa, and ultra high vacuum versions with up to 10-11 hPa. These stepper motors are useful in temperature range from ?20 to +300 ?C. They have radiation resistances of up to 106 J/kg and holding torques from 3.4 mNm to 9.9 Nm. Gear like low-backlash planetary gear, temperature sensor, radiation resistance, etc. are optional accessories that can be provided with the units.
