The Focus planetary gearhead features strict tolerances which are achieved by its torsion-resistant design. Minimal circumferential backlash is a result of quality production processes of the gearheads.

The gearhead features the following production process: plastic gearwheels with angled toothing attach to a slotted aluminum carrier in the first gears. The planet gears are then placed in the middle of a planet gear carrier cage. This cage transfers the transmitted torque to the second gear. It is equipped with a hardened steel inner ring gear and hardened steel planet gears. The planet gears of the second stage are installed through needle bearings on the planet gear carrier. The carrier is then mounted on the hardened, double ball bearing-mounted output shaft.
