The Zwick 7140 is a specimen grinding unit that allows the removal of the test piece cold-hardening zones through grinding. The grinder can be used to machine a broad range of specimen shapes.

The unit conforms with the requirements of ISO 6892-1 for sheet-metal specimens Types 1 to 3. It features a tolerance inside a parallel specimen length greater than 0.03 mm. Parallelism within parallel specimen length Lc is better than 0.02mm in accordance to the middle axis of the specimen, within the range recommended by the International Deep Drawing Research Group.
