Mega D Chuck achieves simultaneous fit on the nut as well as the taper shank to obtain rigidity close to an integral body.

In the case of a conventional milling chuck, the inner taper of the nut contacts only with the body when tightened. However, there is still a gap between the nut and body. The large fit diameter of the nut provides higher rigidity as if the chuck and nut were an integral body. This superior rigidity assures heavy cutting without chatter.
