Fusion presents brazing carbide with paste filler metals. This method is much improved when compared to the traditional way of brazing carbide to steel assemblies. The old method involves brazing with filler metals of shim type and a separate flux. The brazing paste is a uniform blend of filler metal powder and a paste-type flux. The flux is given out in one step, and it is heated at rates of between 100- 500 parts every hour.
It is possible to achieve brazing temperatures using both flame as well as induction heating methods. Fusions paste for brazing carbide is named as STK-1260-650. It is a zero-cadmium, silver bearing formation that complies with AWS (BAg 24) filler metal requirements.
STK offers fluxing in the range of between 1000-1700?F. It is moderately restrictive, and remains active during long heating cycles. The tensile strength of brazing carbide parts with paste is equal to or higher than those combined using the shim/flux method.
