The VMI 20 is an electromagnetic flow meter that functions based on the principle of induction. The gauging pipe is integrated within a magnetic filed. When an electrically conductive medium possessing a measured flow passes through the measuring pipe at a right-angle to the magnetic field, a voltage is generated in the medium. The voltage produced is proportionate to the standard flow velocity and is selected by 2 electrodes. This device is generally used in applications such as cooling procedures in machine and plant engineering.
