The ACC2-2 is designed to handle the communications that go to and from the CMM controller unit as well as handle control for the ACR1 autochange rack.

In addition it handles multiplexes as well as interfaces the head and the datum probe signals. It uses serial RS232 and parallel IEEE data transmission.
