This TIM-EC interface module offers a flexible solution for transmitting torque and speed signals digitally with the etherCAT field-bus system. It can be used in Fieldbus-based automation and control systems. Examples include test benches for combustion and electric engines, pumps, compressors, and transmissions.

Fast and accurate real-time communication with high output and bandwidth is offered by EtherCAT. It allows simulation models to be used for performing early bench tests before a prototype is built.

The TIM-EC features a low group delay, which boosts performance of the control loop immensely. Precise and simple acquisition of speed signals and torque is possible in real time in the control and automation systems. This can be done later via the standard TMC interface.
