The "open frame" NEMA 4 (IP66) sealing KIO78U6 Series Medical Keyboard is offered to Original Equipment Manufacturers. The compact size retains 90 full size keys with 101/104 key functionality, a numeric keypad, and the Orbital Mouse? button style "drift free" mouse pointer. Two stiffener brackets strengthen the heavy duty PCB which is layered with thick "hard gold" contacts. Covered with a white FDA silicone elastomer having molded "hard carbon" pill contacts has been proven to provide more than 10 years of reliable, maintenance free, service. The white FDA silicone elastomer with its 2mm key travel provides excellent tactile feel, but most impressive is the impermeable molecular barrier sealing protection obtained from a Parylene C conformal coating process. This compact hygienic keyboard is impervious to infectious pathogens or carcinogenic compounds with allows complete removal by proper decontamination,sanitization, or sterilization procedures.

As an OEM of medical devices or cleanroom devices, this hygienic keyboard can be confidently designed into equipment with an assurance of high reliability and long term durability. Applications include managing infection control in healthcare facilities with usage as a medical keyboard, hospital keyboard, medical cart keyboard, surgical keyboard, or Intensive-care keyboard.
