The D11 engine from Volvo Construction Equipment is designed using the Volvo Advanced Combustion Technology (V-ACT). It features an enhanced fuel injection, an effective air handling system, and improved engine management. It meets the Stage IV emissions legislation standards, which results in an improved fuel efficiency and reduced costs.

The Volvo D11 Stage IV engine employs selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology to meet the lower nitrogen oxide (NOX) limit required by the new emissions regulations. The SCR technology uses an injection of AdBlue? solution into the exhaust gas flow to create ammonia (NH3) which results in reduced emissions.
