The one-row, or single-row, cylindrical bearings are available in six types NU, N, NJ, NF, NP, and NUP. The industry standard nomenclature is listed in parenthesis below. NU (RIU, RU) belongs to the Timken?s version of the industry-standard NU one-row cylindrical bearing and is regarded as the most popular version in our line-up. The bearing comes with separable inner ring and the cage and roller complement mounted to the outer ring.
The N-type cylindrical bearing (RIN, RN) is designed with two integral ribs on the inner ring to retain the rollers and cage. Our NJ-type bearing (RIJ, RJ) are capable to support heavy radial loads and to carry light, unidirectional thrust loads that are up to 10 percent of the radial load. The bearings feature two integral ribs on the outer ring and a single rib on the inner ring. NF (RIF, RF) can carry incidental thrust loads.
