The Penny & Giles (formerly Mechetronics) open-frame linear solenoids are typically utilized in various industries due to their robust and cost-effective design.

These products are distinguished as a pull or thrust types of solenoids, which are equipped with flying leads or terminals. Furthermore, these contain an optional voltage ratings, zinc or other plated frames, a nickel-plated plunger, and customized fixings and plunger end designs. These open-frame linear solenoids are capable of creating strokes that measure up to 25 mm, a force up to 50 N, and continuous or intermittent duty cycles.
