The Microlab 600 Diluter from Hamilton has been primed with liquid. This ensures a positive displacement system. In addition to that, the liquid primer is incompressible that provides accurate measurements every time the syringe aspirates or dispenses. This is different from the effects due to an air displacement system trapping the compressible air in the path of the fluid. The results vary with the atmospheric conditions, viscosity, and technique due to the air being compressed when the liquid is moved.
