The SHM1 is a powerful homogeniser with an ergonomic design, variable motor speed of 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, and a processing range between 0.03 ml to 100 ml. Due to its coupling with the motor, the rotor shaft gains a speed of 35,000 rpm while operating with the tube assembly around the shaft static therefore acting as a pump either to draw the sample at the open end of the tube or to force it through the windows at the base. The structural strain coupled with the varied speed between the rotor and the tube helps in the comprehensive reduction of the particle size of the sample thus making it ideal for homogenising applications. Moreover, due to the differential speed between the rotor that moves rapidly and he static tube assembly, a cavitational force is being created that disseminates the sample to reduce the particle size.
