The 3542 series is a line of axial extensometers engineered by Epsilon. It is suitable for general use in axial tensile, compression, and cyclic testing.

The device operates in both tension and compression for testing different types of materials, such as metals, plastics, composites and ceramics. It offers high frequency operation due to its dual flexure construction, with resistance to vibrations.

The unit features a quick attach kit by Epsilon to ensure easy mounting on the test specimen using one hand. The kit is removable for mounting the device with springs or rubber bands.

The extensometer operates within a temperature range of -265C to +200C (-450F to 400F). It is equipped with a 350 ohm strain gaged design for use with any electronics for strain gaged transducers.
