Robotic Wet Blast Systems
Many different types of wet blasting systems are suitable for robotic automation. In most cases, the robot is integrated with the slurry-blast cabinet as a nozzle manipulator, with one or more wet blast guns bracketed to the end of the articulated arm. Rotary spindle wet-blast systems may have a servomotor drive, so the rotation or orientation of the spindle can be controlled as a 7th axis of robotic motion. A rubberized, laminated fabric skirt seals the wall of the blast enclosure and isolates the robot from the wet blasting process. While executing the programmed motion routine, the robotic wet blast system accurately maintains the correct nozzle angle, stand-off distance and surface speed.
