axial pipe expansion joint / pressure-balanced

Large axial forces are experienced on the main supports of the high pressure
piping systems due to the high internal pressures.
To compensate these large axial forces, heavy-duty support constructions are
required. Also if the piping is not on the ground level, it is very hard to construct
those supports for the elevated pipelines.
The pressure balanced expansion joints are used to relieve loads on critical
equipment such as pumps, turbines, compressors, tanks etc.
