The Adjustable Fall Restraint Rope plays a critical part of the Fall Restraint System. It consists of a 10 metre length of 12mm kermantle rope with a stainless steel adjuster connected to a 1 metre rope lanyard which connects directly to the rear harness point of the user?s harness with a small aluminium double-action hook. At the other end it is connected to a Temporary Horizontal Lifeline along which the rope system travels so that the user is always working perpendicular to the lifeline. The user controls the distance between the leading edge and the lifeline with the adjuster, ensuring that he is always in tension and does not have slack rope which could allow movement beyond the fall hazard. For example, where there is a need to fix fa?ade brackets along the edge of a slab, the fixer will allow enough length on his Fall Arrest System to reach the leading edge which means that he will adjust his Rope System so that it is in tension and will not allow him to advance further.
