The DC UPS system is built modularly and purely convection cooled and works in standby parallel operation mode. Thus the
battery receives without delay, uninterrupted the supply of the consumer and was designed for applications which require the
monitoring of the supply of consumers via fieldbus.
The fieldbus is supplied by an Anybus module, i.e. without large expense the UPS can be delivered with another fieldbus.
The UPS control and monitoring card (BMC) and its related backplane were conceived so that power supplies and lead acid
batteries with nominal voltages of 12 VDC, 24 VDC and 48 VDC and load currents of up to 25A on the backplane and up to several
100A, can be selected at customers request.
The flexible concept of the system can be extended in many items and can simply implement fieldbus monitored DC UPS systems
with much higher power and performance. The concept provides for load currents over 25A, that only the signal connections
remain on the backplane, the power connection and components are discretely mounted in the 19" rack. In this way the system is
also easy to configure for very high load currents.
All power supplies with power fail signal and a control voltage from 0 - 5V or 0-10V can be combined with the UPS control and
monitoring card (BMC).
Also any type of lead acid battery with the most varied of capacities and characteristic curves can be reliable monitored and
controlled, discharged and charged by the BMC.
The signals transmitted via fieldbus inform about the status of the DC UPS, in particular its battery.
