If voltages up to 10,000 V AC in combination with high currents have to be switched, it is very difficult to find suitable switching elements. Therefore, SPS electronic has developed a special high voltage relay. Besides the already mentioned requirements for high voltages and high currents it is often additionally necessary, to switch very small voltages in mV-range and currents in mA-range.

The requirements regarding the quality of switching contacts are consequently extremely high. For the industrial use a high life time has to be ensured as well. The relays are being applied especially in combined safety and function test systems for testing of electrotechnical products.
