Designed by Omega, these PBA piezo switches are based on the piezoelectricity principle. The piezoelectric effect is the ability of some materials to produce an electrical potential as a response to an applied mechanical stress. Conversely, when an electric field is applied, a strain is produced - the piezoelectric effect is reversible.

At the core of numerous high-end applications, this technology includes fuel injectors, ultrasonic submarine detectors and laser mirror alignment.
