The GSA turbine is a versatile, rugged
steam turbine ideal for refining,
petrochemical, food processing, steel, and
other industries as an economical and
reliable mechanical drive.
Horizontal, Axially-split Casing
The GSA turbine casing is horizontally split,
with inlet and exhaust in the lower half.
This allows for easy access to the interior
without disturbing steam piping or turbine
alignment. Rugged cast-steel casing and
centerline support using a kingpin allow
exhaust piping expansion forces to be
transmitted directly to the foundation and
minimize thermal distortion and
misalignment problems.
Nozzle Block
Stainless steel nozzle block is drilled and
reamed with a number of nozzles,
depending upon turbine rating. Hand nozzle
control valves are also available to improve
performance.
Overspeed Trip System
The overspeed trip is a simple, positive
acting, sparkless device that operates
independently of the governor system. The
venturi-type standard trip valve provides
positive emergency shutoff, and can be
reset against full-line pressure. Positive trip
and shutoff is accomplished by using spring
and steam pressure forces to close the
valve. For API 612 turbines, a trip-and-
throttle valve is furnished to permit manual
control of steam flow during start-up for
increased operating flexibility.
