The Mini-AVIM connector, which is manufactured by Diamond, has been developed as a smaller and lighter version of the AVIM connector for harsh situations, most especially for space applications. This particular connector combines two technologies, which are the AVIM MILstyle ratchet system, and the base construction of Diamond Micro Interface or DMI connector.

It has a compact, small and lightweight design and it is used for applications that range from space to underwater, mobile, avionics, shipboard, and oil downhole. The unit conforms to the ESCC 2263010 standard.
