CG started manufacturing of vacuum interrupters at Aurangabad, India in 1985-86 in technical collaboration with the then Westinghouse Electric, USA, to became the pioneers in vacuum technology in India. After completion of collaboration period, CG extended the product range with continuous design upgradation with our inhouse research and development to offer vacuum interrupters for various applications. In 2003-2004, we increased the manufacturing capacity to over 100,000 per year to become the largest vacuum interrupter manufacturer in India. Today, more than 600,000 units of CG vacuum interrupters are in service across the globe.
