rubidium crystal frequency standard
SIM940
Vnation JSC

Stanford Research Systems' SIM940 incorporates a rubidium oscillator (SRS model PRS10) into the platform of SIM900 and provides a reliable and stable performance with a 20 year aging of less than 5 x 10-9 and a demonstrated rubidium oscialltor MTBF over 200,000 hours estimate. The applications of the SIM940 lie in calibration and R & D laboratories or any other applications that demand a precision frequency standard. The three 10 MHz outputs with exceptionally low phase noise of -130 dBc/Hz at 10 Hertz offset coupled with one second Allan variance of <2 x 10-11 is another plus. Both the RS-232 and GPIB interfaces are supported by the mainframe and the functions of the SIM940 can be controlled remotely via the the SIM900 mainframe through a computer as well. Furthermore, the phase lock capability of the SIM940 to an external 1 pps reference which is akin to GPS allows achieving Stratum 1 performance.
