This line of load cells and dynamometers is designed on the principle that a force applied on the device produces voltages which are in direct proportion to the stress on the cell. This voltage is converted into an electrical signal using a strain gauge. The maker offers assorted load cells in response to the wide field of applications. These may be classified briefly as compression cells, traction cells, cell-way, off-center and so on.
All these feature laser welding to assure that the internal parts are protected fully from the environmental stresses, and to prolong the service life of the product. The compression load cells are used in situations where the load is applied in only one direction of compression, as in weighing silos or motor vehicle weighing platforms. These include the popular F1 cells that are in widespread use in many industrial applications, and are unidirectional bending load cells. Dynamometers are used in overhead cranes and hoppers, while tractive cells are used where there is tractional force only. Bidirectional cells handle both compressive and tractive forces.
These cells take a nominal load of 5kN up to 5mN, producing an output signal of 2mV/V. They are made of laser-welded stainless steel and can tolerate temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius, conforming to IP67.
