AC operated Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT?s) contain no electronics and are therefore the first choice when small size, hostile environments or low cost are required. AC LVDT?s when used in conjunction with Measurement Specialties Signal conditioners (see Instrumentation) offer the maximum amount of flexibility for outputs and scaling. Ranges from +/-0.005? to +/-10.000? are available.

The E Series of LVDTs is economical and satisfies numerous applications where LVDT performance and reliability are desired, but where budgets are limited. Linearity is 0.5% of full-range for all units except the E2000. The E series is particularly suitable for moderate operating temperatures. Its rugged construction will resist the shocks and vibrations encountered in most industrial applications. The E series is housed in magnetic stainless steel for protection against electromagnetic and electrostatic interference.
